The coat color distribution should be approximately 7/8ths white and 1/8th color. The belly must be white. The color black should be raven black, the red deep and warm, and the paler shades are preferred in the blue, cream and lilac. Markings as for the other coat colors and patterns.

The patches are usually found on the cap and tail. The Van pattern is an extreme expression of Harlekin.

Comments

• The colored patches should not be brindled. Pigment flecks in the nose leather or black whiskers are faults, except in the tortoiseshell vans.
