Neva Masquerade is only a synonym for Siberian Colorpoints
and not recognized as a separate breed.
Body
The body is medium to large, larger animals are
preferred. Rectangular format, not too long. Short, strong neck, broad chest.
Legs in good proportion to the body, of medium length, strong feet round
with well defined tufts. Tail not too long, broad at the base, not too pointed
at the end.
Head
Head in good proportion to the body. Medium wedge
shape with a slightly rounded chin area. Forehead somewhat domed. Clear
bridge between the forehead and the nose. Nose of exactly the same width
from the bridge to the nose leather. Cheek bones very broad, set deep. Whisker
pads moderately pronounced. Cheek bones, whisker pads and chin form a gently
rounded line.
Ears
Ears of medium size, set wide part, more than the
width of an ear between the ears.
Eyes
Eyes slightly oval, set level. All colors between
yellow and green are allowed.
Coat
Coat of a uniform length, firm thick covering hair.
Undercoat dense and plentiful. Ruff and trousers long.
The color pointed cats (socalled Neva Masquerade) may be in tabby with or
without white markings in a harmonious pattern.
Color
All Solid and Tabby inclusive Point-Varieties. Chocolate,
Lilac, Cinnamon and Fawn not recognized. Each white spotting is allowed.
Point-Varieties without white to be preferred.
All recognized colors may appear with tabby markings, without Abyssinian
ticked tabby marking.
