The body is of medium size, long, slim, well muscled
but elegant. The shoulders should not be heavier than the hips. Neck long
and slim. Legs long and slim in proportion to the body. Feet small and oval.
Tail very long, thin at the base, ending in a finely tapered point.
Head
The head is of medium size, in good proportion to the body, and wedge shaped.
The wedge begins at the nose and broadens in straight line to the ears. Both
lines are unbroken, no pinch. In profile it can be seen that the skull is
slightly convex. The nose is long and straight and continues the line of the
forehead without a break. The muzzle is fine. The chin and jaws are of medium
size and the end of the chin forms a vertical line with the tip of the nose.
Ears
The ears are large, pointed, broad at the base and
extend the line of the wedge.
Eyes
The eyes are of medium size, neither too deeply
set nor protruding, are almond shaped and set at a slight angle in order
to harmonize with the wedge shape of the head. Pure, clear eye color, luminous
and, in the Siamese, a deep blue. Eye colors in the Oriental Shorthair could
be green, orange, blue and odd eyed, each must be clear in color.
For Siamese: Eye color blue
For Oriental: Eye color green
Foreign White: Eye color blue or odd eyed to almost yellow
Coat
The coat is very short, fine and shiny, close lying.
Regular in color.
For Siamese: some shading on the flanks and a slightly darker body color
is allowed in older cats. A good contrast between the body and points coloring.
Cinnamon
Warm cinnamon brown color tone. Nose leather and eye outline cinnamon
brown, paw pads an even brown or pink. In the tabby varieties the nose
leather is pink with a brown outline.
Fawn
A matt beige. In the tabby varieties the nose leather is pink with an
old rose outline, otherwise the nose leather is pink. Paw pads pink.
