The ideal BRAZILIAN ROYAL CAT should present a strikingly
beautiful coat, excellent marks and colors. A healthy, fast elegant cat, with
long, clear lines and bone structure, strong and well muscled, but straight
and slender, surprisingly heavy for this appearance. Temper should be good
and friendly.
Head
Triangular in appearance, longer than broad, in good
proportion to the body.A slight wedge broadest across the forehead just above
the eyes. Flat skull. Nose long, high bridged, and straight. A very mild dip
at eyes level. Jowls absent in females, apparant in the stud cat. Muzzle not
broad, gently getting narrow into a fine whiskers break. Tip of chin slightly
receding from tip to nose.
Body
Long and elegant. Strong but not massive. Shoulders
and hips keep in the same line. Sexual dimorphism clearly noticeable. Mature
males are larger and heavier then females.
Neck
Neither too short, neither too long, but slender and
flexible, in good proportion to body length.
Ears
Large and wide from the base, not pointed, set high
in the head, alter, and tilted forward.
Eyes
Beautiful eyes, large in size, slightly oval in shape,
mildly slanted conform face wegde line. A full eye´s width apart. Eye color
from Golden to Copper. Allowance must be made for blacks and brown tabbies.
Tail
Long and slender, tapering towards the end.
Legs and paws
Legs in keeping with the body, long, slender, well muscled,
not fragile in appearance. Paws dainty in females, proportionately larger
in males. Oval shape. Toes: five in fromt and four behind.
Coat
Extremely short and silky, lying well close to the body.
Vivid color, impressive marks, no undercoat. No dilution in coat color. Only
solid black, brown tabbies, red tabbies, all in bi-color or colorpoint too.
Bi-Colors should conform to the established standard for their co-existing
pattern, with the addition of white feet, underside, chest and muzzle, including
an inverted "V" blaze on the face. Harlequin´s excluded. Colorpoints should
also confirm to established general standard for their co-existing pattern,
showing good tabby markings in face, legs and tail.
Penalize
Undercoat, short and rounded head, poor marks, cobby
build, svelte like Orientals, stop or break, not straight or short nose, short
tail, almond eyes, across eyes
Withhold / Disqualify
bad temper, incorrect number of toes, kinked or abnormal
tail, weak hind legs, any sign of poor health, or illness evidence.
