• Body
• Body muscular, of medium size, firm, lithe, of medium length. Tail fairly long, tapering to a point, strong at the base. Legs fine boned, long and slim. Feet slim and oval.
• Head
• Wedge shaped head of medium proportions with gently curved contours. A shallow indentation at the base of the muzzle is desirable. Strong chin, medium length nose. The profile should show neither a stop nor a completely straight nose. Slim neck.
• Ears
• Ears large, wide set apart, alertly directed and broad to the base. Tips rounded with dark color, tufts are desirable.
• Eyes
• Eyes large, luminous, expressive and almond shaped. Well set apart. The color is a pure, clear intense amber or green with an outline.
• Coat
• Coat short, fine and dense. Double or treble ticking. Dark tips to the hairs are preferred.

• Faults
• White flecks, a white locket, too broadly spaced white
• Markings on the chest
• Unbroken necklet
• Gray or too pale undercoat
• Too little ticking or ghost markings
• Markings or barring in the face or one the legs.
• The absence of a dark tip to the tail, dark soles to the hind feet or a dark eye outline.
• Siamese type, round head, small or pointed ears, round eyes, uneven eye color, too pronounced a stop.
• All shades of cream or brown in the basic color are faults in all silver varieties.

Special color description for Abyssinian

• Ruddy
  The basic color is a warm brown with ticking. The root of the hair is dark orange, the belly and the insides of the legs likewise dark orange to dark apricot color in overall harmony with the main color on the rest of the body. The shading on the spine (the eel line) should be in a darker color. The tail tip and the soles of the hind feet from the back of the paw pads to the hock must be an intensive black. The paw pads must be Black. The nose leather must be Brick red with a black outline.

 

• Sorrel (red)
  The basic color is a shining coppery red with reddish brown ticking. The root of the hair is dark apricot, the belly and the insides of the legs likewise dark apricot color in overall harmony with the main color on the rest of the body. Any shading on the spine (the eel line) should be in a darker color. The tail tip and the soles of the hind feet are reddish brown. The paws must be pink, the nose leather is pink with a reddish brown outline.

 

• Blue
  The basic color should be a warm blue gray, ticked with stell blue tips. The root of the hair should be pale cream or beige. All other features are as for the Ruddy Anyssinian. The paws are blue gray, the nose leather is Brick red with a blue outline.

 

• Fawn
  The basic color should be a matt beige, ticked with dark, warm cream. The root of the hair should be pale cream. The paws are old rose, the nose leather is pink with an old rose outline.

 

• Black silver
  The basic color is a pure silver white, ticked with black. Slightly darker shading along the length of the spine line; this should show a particularly dark contrast. The tail tip and the soles of the hind feet running from the paw pads to the hock must be intense black. The paw pads are black or seal, the nose leather is Brick red with a black outline.
  The eye color is green or blue green; green preferred; black outline

 

• Sorrel Silver
  The basic color is a pure silver white, ticked with reddish brown. Slightly darker shading along the length of the spine line; this should show a particularly dark contrast. The tail tip and the soles of the hind feet running from the paw pads to the hock must be intense reddish brown. The paw pads are any shade between cinnamon and chocolate, the nose leather is Brick red with a brown outline. The eye color is green or blue green; green preferred; brown outline

 

• Blue silver
  The basic color is a pure silver white, ticked with stell blue. Slightly darker shading along the length of the spine line; this should show a particularly dark contrast. The tail tip and the soles of the hind feet running from the paw pads to the hock must be intense steel blue. The paw pads are blue grays, the nose leather is Brick red with a blue outline.

• Fawn silver
  The basic color is a pure silver white, ticked with warm cream. Slightly darker shading along the length of the spine line; this should show a particularly dark contrast.
